STAG DO GUIDE TO PORTO

Drinking In Porto
Start in Baixa, the city’s traditional nightlife core. This is where most nights begin, and often where they end (whether you planned that or not). The streets around Galerias de Paris fill up early, with people spilling out of bars and onto the pavement, drinks in hand. It’s manic in a good way. Expect cheap beers, crowded dance floors, and lots and lots of people.
Cedofeita, which feels like Baixa’s cooler, slightly more grown up sibling. It’s less about packed streets and more about finding a place to settle in for a few rounds. The crowd leans a bit more local, a bit more relaxed, but still very much up for a late night.
Head downhill and you’ll hit Ribeira, where things skew more scenic than party bar. Yes, it’s touristy, but for a reason. Drinking by the river with the Dom Luís I Bridge lit up in the background is hard to beat, especially at sunset.
Porto Food
In Ribeira, you’ll find small riverside restaurants with tables spilling onto the cobbled streets along the Douro. These spots can be busy with tourists, and while some are more tourist focused, many still offer excellent traditional dishes like francesinha or fresh seafood, often paired with local wines.
Cedofeita has become Porto’s trendy dining area, with new restaurants and bars opening seemingly every week. Here you’ll eat alongside locals, creatives, and occasionally famous faces from football or Portuguese TV. The vibe is lively but relaxed, perfect for long meals with friends.

Your stag group can expect pay between £30 to £45 for a great value three course meal including drinks but a little warning you will be charged for everything you eat on the table, do not assume the bread, butter and olives are free.
Porto Locals eat very late in comparison to the UK and restaurants tend to be fully booked after 9pm so booked prior to 8.30pm to secure a table for your large stag group.
Getting Around
On Foot: Porto is a very compact city and it is possible to walk around the main central area on foot.
By Bicycle: Bicycle hire in Porto is very popular but don’t forget about those hills, prepare to huff and puff.
By Metro: The metro system has 6 lines. The trains are frequent and cheap, it runs from 6am to 1am.
By Tram: Porto’s old trams rattle around the city and are great for visiting the cities best known attractions.
By Taxi: Taxi’s in Porto are very cheap and can be found in abundance, but we suggest using BOLT.
